Initial Course

This three-day course is required for the training of individuals to design asbestos abatement projects or write asbestos abatement plans. It introduces individuals to the health effects and regulatory concerns pertaining to asbestos, and the various aspects of designing an abatement project.

To obtain the state license or permit, trainees must have proof of education and/or experience. Contact Access or the appropriate state for details.

The Asbestos Building Inspector Course is a 3 day course.

This three-day course is required for individuals to obtain an EPA AHERA building inspector license. These individuals may perform building surveys by taking samples of suspect asbestos-containing materials. It covers the skills of performing asbestos inspections in schools and public/commercial buildings.

This three-day course is required for individuals to obtain an EPA AHERA building inspector license. These individuals may perform building surveys by taking samples of suspect asbestos-containing materials. It covers the skills of performing asbestos inspections in schools and public/commercial buildings.

This five-day course is required for the training of individuals that supervise asbestos abatement projects. This program also satisfies the requirements of OSHA for the trainee to function as a Competent Person on an asbestos abatement project. The supervisor course addresses EPA, OSHA, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania state regulations for asbestos abatement projects.

This four-day course is required for individuals working in asbestos abatement. It provides comprehensive instruction on the practices and procedures utilized in asbestos abatement work, as well as knowledge of the relevant regulations. Individuals will understand the potential for health hazards and how to work safely and efficiently in a way that will safeguard themselves and the public from exposure.

This two-day course is required for the training of individuals that act as maintenance and custodial staff in asbestos-related projects.  This program is also known as OSHA Class III training where minor disturbance of asbestos is anticipated during a maintenance or repair task.

This four-day course is required for the training of individuals that supervise lead abatement projects for commercial buildings and superstructures.  A second certificate for OSHA Lead Competent Person Initial will also be provided upon successful completion of this program. The course discusses the history, properties, and health effects of lead, Federal and state regulations, and hazard recognition, reduction, and abatement methods. Comprehensive hands-on training is provided during the course.

This four-day course is required for the training of individuals in the abatement of lead for commercial buildings and superstructures. A second certificate for OSHA Lead-In-Construction Training will also be provided upon successful completion of this program. These workers find employment primarily on superstructures with bridge, overpass, and tank painting contractors.
