We offer the following programs for individuals and businesses performing lead abatement in commercial buildings:

This four-day course prepares individuals to perform lead abatement for both housing and public buildings. Some of the topics covered include the history, properties, and the health consequences of lead exposure; means of lead detection; abatement strategies; and appropriate on-site work practices. This course involves both classroom and extensive hands-on training.

This four-day course trains individuals to conduct lead abatement for commercial buildings and superstructures. Participating individuals will receive a second certificate for OSHA Lead-In-Construction Training upon successful completion of the program. This training is appropriate for individuals working on superstructures with bridge, overpass, and tank painting contractors.

Among the topics covered are the history, properties, and health hazards of lead exposure; lead detection procedures; abatement techniques; and relevant on-site work practices. This course consists of both classroom and comprehensive hands-on training.

This course takes place over four days and is mandatory for workers who supervise lead abatement projects for housing and public buildings. It deals with such topics as the history, properties, and health problems caused by lead; federal and state regulations; and hazard recognition, reduction, and abatement procedures. In addition to classroom instruction, this seminar includes hands-on, industry training.

To obtain the state license or permit, trainees must submit proof of education and/or experience. Please contact Access Training or your state authority for details.

A permit will be issued only to applicants who meet the following requirements:

1. A minimum of one (1) year experience as a lead abatement worker and

2. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field or the construction trades.

This course takes place over four days and is mandatory for individuals who supervise lead abatement projects for commercial buildings and superstructures.  Participating individuals will also receive a second certificate for OSHA Lead Competent Person Initial upon successful completion of the program.

Among the topics covered are the history, properties, and health problems resulting from lead exposure; federal and state regulations; and hazard recognition, reduction, and abatement methods. This class involves both classroom and comprehensive hands-on industry training.

To obtain the state license or permit, trainees must submit proof of education and/or experience. Please contact Access Training or your state authority for details.

A permit will be issued only to applicants who meet the following requirements:

1. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in industrial painting;

2. A minimum of 90 days of experience in field supervision or management in hazardous paint removal within the previous 24 months; and

3. Work experience demonstrating knowledge of relevant safety practices, waste handling procedures, and environmental monitoring.
