Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all of Access' initial classes are postponed until further notice.  However, the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey have approved Access to teach Lead and Asbestos refresher classes via online teleconferencing.  For information regarding online teleconferencing training or permit extensions, please see the following information:

Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry:

New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce:

  • The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce has approved Access to offer Lead and Asbestos refresher training via online teleconferencing platforms.
  • If students do not want participate in a teleconference course or do not have the capabilities to, and they need a permit extension, they must contact hte appropriate agency (NJDOH for lead permits and NJDOLWD for asbestos permits) before their permit expires.
    • Extensions for lead permits:
      • If the applicant's lead permit has already expired and they do not currently possess an extension, the only extension that will be issued is a 90-day grace period extension to extend the time they have to renew a permit.
      • Extensions from the NJDOH of lead permits will be on a month-to-month basis (90-day grace period extensions may be longer but will be considered on a case-by-case basis).
      • All requests and extensions will be done via e-mail.  No fax or hard copies will be received or sent.
      • Permittees requesting a lead permit extension must have the ability to print their permit extension in color so it can be carried with the expired perkit.
